The Dark Side of Being a Fan

Emma Watson is best known as the actress who played Hermione Granger, one of the main characters in the Harry Potter film franchise, based on J.K. Rowling's iconic book series, released in the late 1990s and which helped revive young audiences' interest in reading. She has played other film roles, but it's clear that it was primarily because of the Harry Potter films that she became known worldwide. Emma has also gained notoriety for her political activism. But this activism is typical of "celebrity" politics, with plenty of politically correct and biased rhetoric and little hands-on action. Despite having built a less than impressive career in terms of acting, both in the arts and in politics, Emma has millions of followers on Instagram and other social media platforms, on this particular one, around fifty million—that is, she has more Instagram followers than Argentina has. Many of this young lady's millions of social media followers are her "fans," and as you might imagine, they are people who harbor a sense of fanaticism toward her, treating her as if she were a special, flawless human being and exaggerating her personal and professional achievements.

Whenever I think of social activism, I think of those people, usually women, who dedicate their lives to fostering and caring for stray animals, almost always dogs and cats. I think of the sheer number of followers these people tend to have: far fewer than "Hermione," the activist of words... I think of the difficult lives these kind-hearted people lead to maintain their altruistic projects with some of the most reviled creatures in a typical urban environment, and how much more celebrated these celebrities are, even or especially when they do nothing truly special (or quite the opposite). And there's no way to conclude that their fans contribute more to feeding the ego of this type of celebrity, who also engages in abstract activism, and that they could do something more objectively altruistic, at least by following animal rights accounts, given that the more followers a social media account has, the more money it can earn from sponsors... They could help much more noble causes than stroking the ego of narcissists (sorry, but that's my impression of Emma and others like her). This is one of the darkest sides of being a fan: the typical injustice of deifying figures who, frankly speaking, are far less relevant in a practical sense, even if their faces are known worldwide. If they themselves could actually do good, helping NGOs and individuals genuinely engaged in altruistic projects, using their own image to drive support, but also contributing generously. But no... They prefer to act like parrots of supposed social activism full of ulterior motives, such as, for example, supporting refugees, which, in reality, have as their most important objective to push the globalist agenda of slowly destroying the cultural and ethnic identities of nations through mass immigration.

O lado obscuro de ser fã

Emma Watson é muito mais conhecida como a atriz que interpretou Hermione Granger, uma das personagens principais da franquia de filmes, Harry Potter, baseada na série icônica de livros de J.K Rowling, lançada no final dos anos 90 e que contribuiu para reviver o interesse do público jovem no hábito da leitura. Ela já fez outros papéis no cinema, mas é óbvio que foi principalmente por causa dos filmes do Harry Potter que ela ficou conhecida mundialmente. Além disso, Emma também tem se destacado pelo seu ativismo político. Mas esse ativismo é bem daquele, típico de "celebridade", com muito discurso politicamente correto, e enviesado, e pouca "mão na massa". Pois, apesar de ter construído, até agora, uma carreira não muito impressionante em termos de atuação, tanto no mundo das artes quanto no mundo da política, Emma coleciona milhões de seguidores no Instagram e em outras redes sociais, nesta, em específico, na casa dos cinquenta milhões, isto é, ela tem mais seguidores no Instagram que a Argentina têm de habitantes. Muitos dos milhões de seguidores desta jovem senhora em redes sociais são seus "fãs" e, como é de se imaginar, são de pessoas que alimentam um sentimento de fanatismo por ela, tratando-a como se fosse um ser humano especial, sem defeitos, e exagerando suas realizações pessoais e profissionais. 

Sempre quando eu penso em ativismo social, eu penso naquelas pessoas, geralmente mulheres, que dedicam suas vidas para acolher e cuidar de animais de ruas, quase sempre de cães e gatos. Eu penso na quantidade de seguidores que essas pessoas tendem a ter: muito menos que o da "Hermione", ativista das palavras... Penso na vida difícil que essas pessoas de bom coração levam para manter seus projetos de altruísmo com algumas das criaturas mais vilipendiadas de um típico meio urbano e o quão mais celebradas essas celebridades são, mesmo ou especialmente quando nada de realmente especial fazem (até o oposto). E não tem como concluir que seus fãs contribuem mais para alimentar o ego desse tipo de celebridade, que também se engaja em ativismos abstratos, e que poderiam fazer algo mais objetivamente altruísta, de, pelo menos, passarem a seguir as contas dos protetores de animais, se sabemos que, quanto mais seguidores uma conta de rede social tem, mais dinheiro com patrocinadores ela pode ganhar... Poderiam ajudar causas muito mais nobres do que afagar o ego de narcisistas (desculpem, mas essa é a minha impressão sobre Emma e outros iguais a ela). Esse é um dos lados mais obscuros de um fã: a típica injustiça de endeusamento de figuras que, francamente falando, são muito menos relevantes em um sentido prático, mesmo que as suas faces sejam conhecidas no mundo todo. Se elas mesmas poderiam fazer o bem, de fato,  ajudando ONGs e indivíduos realmente engajados com projetos altruístas, usando a própria imagem para impulsionar apoio, mas também contribuindo generosamente. Só que não... Preferem agir como papagaios de grife de supostos ativismos sociais cheios de segundas intenções, tal como, por exemplo, o apoio a refugiados e que, na verdade, tem como objetivo mais importante empurrar a agenda globalista de lenta destruição das identidades culturais e étnicas das nações, por meio da imigração em massa.

 To truth: objective, subjective, partial, impartial, absolute, relative...

To always seek it, expose it, respect it, and fight for it. Even if it's an inconvenient or politically incorrect truth, or even dangerous to discuss. Especially when it's a truth that needs to be spoken and heard...

Not just to tell the truth, but also to know how to do it. Without offending when unnecessary. Avoiding blatant euphemisms, but also not confusing it with gratuitous offense. To strive for clear, precise, and neutral language, free of fallacies and other deceptions...

O mais importante da filosofia é o compromisso com a verdade

Com a verdade: objetiva, subjetiva, parcial, imparcial, absoluta, relativa... 

De sempre buscá-la, expô-la, respeitá-la e lutar por ela. Mesmo se for uma verdade inconveniente ou politicamente incorreta, ou mesmo perigosa para se comentar. Especialmente quando é uma verdade que precisa ser dita e ouvida...

Não apenas de dizer uma verdade, mas também de como fazê-lo. Sem ofender quando não for necessário. Evitando eufemismos rasgados, mas também de não confundi-la com ofensa gratuita. De buscar por uma linguagem clara, precisa e neutra, limpa de falácias e outras enganações...

The first is the most vulnerable to engaging in toxic relationships, and the third is the most likely to exhibit toxic or abusive behavior toward others. The second, because it presents the most balanced profile, is the most likely to offer sincere and calm friendship, but also to demand reciprocity or recognize high levels of toxicity in a relationship early on.

Sobre três tipos

 Aquele que se importa mais com o seu sentimento em relação ao outro do que também com o sentimento do outro em relação a ele

O primeiro é o mais vulnerável a se envolver em relações tóxicas e o terceiro é o mais propenso a apresentar comportamentos tóxicos ou abusivos com outros indivíduos. Já o segundo é aquele que, por apresentar o perfil mais equilibrado, é o mais propenso a oferecer amizade sincera e serena, mas também de exigir reciprocidade ou reconhecer antecipadamente níveis altos de toxicidade em uma relação em seu início
